Is this called a stuff sack? Because you stuff your stuff in it? There must be a correct name, but I'm going with carry-all. Because that's what it does.
I wanted it to be summer-picnic happy, so picked out my best and brightest fabrics.
I do plan on making another quilt in red/white/blue, but only had enough fabric on hand for this smaller project. Sometimes you just want to whip out something pretty!
The bottom uses dark fabric, because I figured placing the bag down on sand or lawn or barkdust would show pretty quick, otherwise.
I used the little embroideries I was working on last week. It adds that special touch of "handmade" that you just can't buy in a store.
The top is a drawstring. Now can you see the base is a fabric basket, which I have added a length of thinner cloth to the top so it's pliable enough to make it close easily? The bottom round part is quilted, but not the top checkered part.
I added extra sewing to the strap, so it would not come away or tear while carrying towels/shoes/lunch to the beach!
I decided I had made the quilted part too many rows wide and cut off the extra--which worked out perfectly into this little pouch!
I am so happy with how this project turned out, everything worked just as I envisioned.I hope your weekend is proving as successful!
