hand sewing the girlie quilt

I love looking at quilting blogs, and have fallen in love with the look of perle cotton hand-sewn. Long lines of stitching. The thickness of the thread. So I started hand-quilting my girlie quilt.

 I bought one spool of 50 yards of white. I have used up the whole spool.

 I'm waiting to go to town and buy another spool, I expect this quilt will take a total of 75 yards. Never underestimate how much thread you will need! Do you look at people's lists of "Things to store for when the world as we know it ends?"  They always leave off needles and thread. And I tell you, you are going to need a LOT of thread! And needles. Because it will be a long time before the needle factories open up again.

I still love this quilt and wish daughter loved pink and blue, but nope. So this one will be ending up in my etsy shop, hopefully before the Christmas holidays because this one is going to make a wonderful gift for a little girlie.
