knitting scrunchy leg warmers

Winter seems to be my time of year for knitting. Or maybe my hands just need to be busy with something that doesn't take too much thought. Either way, I am happy to have a project to work on!  I was admiring the shabby chic blog of a lady in Europe--Denmark, maybe, or Germany, and she was dressed in a sort of Boho style and wearing legwarmers. I looked at her photo and thought she looked so pretty, and then thought to myself, "Why is it if I dressed like that I would look like a bag lady?" and decided maybe it's just the confidence with which she presented herself. And I liked her legwarmers and thought they would be a good project. Mind you, I missed the whole ballerina/Flash Dance legwarmer craze, so this is my first pair. I searched for a free pattern on the web, and knitting took a weekend. I've worn them out and gotten compliments, imagine that. No one would compliment a bag lady on her appearance, right? So maybe it's confidence....
