horse family potholder

This was an intricate embroidery, with all those lines of mane. But worth the effort.

I bought bandana fabric at Hobby Lobby hoping it added a western flair. Does it? You can see I adjust the horse design and eliminated the mama's back, because at first I was thinking to cut out the horses in a diamond shape instead of square, but when I went to do the cutting I found I had put the design too close to the edge of the fabric (I always try to conserve fabric) and sabotaged myself.  This works just as well, though.
